Sunrise Management & Consulting and Its Affiliated Companies Celebrate
Milestone of 50,000 Meals Donated to the Regional Food Bank
Launch of “Enjoy One Share One” Program Demonstrates Commitment to Community Giving
Latham, NY (May 27, 2025) – Sunrise Management & Consulting, alongside its affiliated companies, The Inn at Century House and The Clocktower Hotel, proudly announces the donation of over 50,000 meals to the Regional Food Bank as part of its “Enjoy One Share One” initiative since its inception in January 2024. This program is on track to meet its ambitious goal of one million meals over the next decade.
The journey began when Sunrise President Jesse Holland met with Colin DeMers, Managing Director of The Century House, during the acquisition of the property. Holland expressed, “Colin’s dedication to merging hospitality with community service truly inspired us. During our discussions, we recognized the importance of continuing the Enjoy One Share One program.”
At a November 2024 employee engagement event titled “Together We Thrive,” Holland honored DeMers with an “Inspiration Award” for his role in promoting community service through Enjoy One Share One. Chief Strategy Officer Heather Schechter opened the event, stating, “Nothing brings us together quite like a shared vision. The Together We Thrive events foster unity among our diverse teams, allowing us to support one another and work collectively toward our goals.”
Since its founding in 1998, Sunrise Management & Consulting has evolved from a company that initially focused solely on third-party multifamily property management to one that has expanded into investment and development, and most recently, launched a hospitality division. With the acquisition of The Century House Property and The Inn at Century House in 2022, followed by The Comfort Inn in 2023, the company has grown its workforce from 40 to over 100 employees. In January 2025, Sunrise Management converted The Comfort Inn to the more upscale Choice Ascend Hotel Collection, investing in improvements and repairs, and celebrated the grand opening of The Clocktower Hotel at Century House.
During the November “Together We Thrive” event, Holland elaborated on the impact of the Enjoy One Share One program: “Colin has inspired us to align our mission with our long-term growth objectives. As part of our commitment, we have established a bold target: from 2024 to 2034, we aim to provide one million home bases through our real estate management and hospitality divisions, donating a meal for every home base provided.”
He explained the concept of “home base,” describing it as a safe and welcoming space—whether it’s a monthly apartment rental or a nightly hotel stay—where individuals can find security, stability, and a sense of belonging.
Launched by DeMers at The Century House in June 2009, Enjoy One Share One has already contributed over one million meals before Sunrise’s acquisition. “With the ongoing support of our employees and partners,” Holland announced, “we are determined to provide an additional one million meals by December 2034.”
Joanne Dwyer from the Regional Food Bank addressed attendees, highlighting the significance of partnerships in the fight against hunger since its founding in 1982. “On behalf of everyone at the Regional Food Bank, we deeply appreciate the commitment of Jesse Holland and his team to further build on Colin DeMers’ vision for the Enjoy One Share One Program,” said Joanne Dwyer, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at the Regional Food Bank. “As food insecurity rises, every meal donated to the Food Bank has a significant impact, providing our neighbors with food and the same warmth and care experienced by hotel guests and residents at their ‘home base,’ provided by Sunrise companies. Thank you for the first 50,000 meals donated and for your goal of donating one million meals.”
DeMers emphasized the program’s legacy and impact, reminding Sunrise employees, “Even on difficult days, take a moment to reflect on the difference you’re making. Your work contributes to someone receiving a meal who might not have had access otherwise.”
Sunrise Management & Consulting and its affiliated companies, The Inn at Century House and The Clocktower Hotel, reaffirm their commitment to community service and look forward to reaching their milestones with the continued support of their team, partners, and the community.
